Dana grew up on a farm in Blackwell, Oklahoma. She enjoyed showing horses, playing in the band, and playing basketball, softball, and tennis. She injured her knee in high school, and this sparked her interest in physical therapy. Dana attended Oklahoma State University from 1983-1987 where she served as a student athletic trainer. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1989 with a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy, and then later that year she completed her certification in Athletic Training. Dana has worked in many physical therapy settings including acute care, extended care/skilled nursing, home health, and out-patient. Most of her professional experience has been in out-patient orthopedics, and in 2002 Dana founded Motionworks Physical Therapy in Chickasha. In 2010 she completed her doctorate in physical therapy at Arizona School of Health Sciences, A.T. Still University.
Dana has been a member of the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, and the National Athletic Trainers Association since 1987. She is a certified Astym provider, and is also a certified WorkSTEPS provider. Dana has been chosen Grady County’s “Favorite Physical Therapist” numerous times in the Express-Star Readers Choice Awards.
